Short-Term Training Support Program
The Short-Term Training Support program is designed to provide funding for short-term training programs (4 months or less) that will enhance employment and advancement opportunities for shareholders, descendants and spouses of shareholders. All training support services are dependent on availability of funding.

Important Information to Know: Short-term training support funding may not be used for courses that have already begun or completed prior to the application being received and approved for an award of a specific program. Awards must be used for the training period awarded and may not be carried forward. Budget for this program is limited.
Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and must be complete before funding is approved and processed. Applications should be submitted two weeks prior to the start of the training to allow for adequate processing time.
Employment Support Program Application
The Employment Support program is designed to assist shareholders to obtain, maintain or advance in employment by providing support services that will assist shareholders, descendants and spouses of shareholders to purchase or pay for certification fees, work-related clothing/supplies, transportation, tools/equipment or other related supports to obtain/retain/advance in a job with BBNC companies or other employers.

Important Information to Know: Employment support funding cannot be utilized for reimbursement for work gear/tools or transportation costs that have already been incurred by the applicant. Budget for this program is limited. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and must be complete before funding is approved and processed. Applications can take five to seven business days to process.
Training Without Walls
The vibrancy of our future depends on the passion of skilled, experienced leaders who are committed to the advancement of the Native community. Established in 1994, BBNC’s Training Without Walls (TWOW) is a management and leadership development program aimed at developing and retaining leaders within our community of shareholders and their descendants. TWOW is a two-year program that includes two-day sessions held three times per year. One-on-one coaching, panel presentations, group discussions and case studies deliver a curriculum focused on these areas:
- Building effective leadership
- Developing strategic, conceptual, and real leadership
- Training for board of director membership and team-leading
- Managing time and stress
- Managing professional and organizational change
- Legal aspects of management
- Presentation skills and persuasion
- Leadership and negotiation strategies
In TWOW, you’ll build a professional network with other participants—as well as leaders from Bristol Bay and the Native community. You’ll gain leadership and management skills that will help you advance in your career and/or acquire board and council leadership positions. You’ll receive three college credits and professional educational experiences in the form of mentorship and coaching from experienced leaders.
We invite interested shareholders, spouses, and descendants to apply to TWOW if you meet these criteria:
- At least 25 years old
- Hold a bachelor’s degree and five years of work experience or 10 years work experience with advancement
- Currently employed
- In a management role or on a management track
- Interested in and committed to the program
